Done with the Something New Service. We have officially handed the contemporary worship service over to newest staff member Tyler Daniel. We think it's going to be great. Thanks to all who supported us during the last few months. It was a great opportunity and a lot of fun, too!
By the way the session with Missou's concert jazz band and Mike Mainieri went really well. I enjoyed visiting with my old colleague and friend Arthur White. It was great to see Mike again, also. I think they've got a great thing going there! Look for the album to hit the shelves later this summer!
I played jazz piano at Marsala Italian Kitchen this last weekend. I'll be there also this Friday and Saturday evening 6-9pm. It's a hip place to eat. Great food, awesome service! Looks like I'll be playing there a couple weekends of every month and trading out with another local jazz musician when needed. If you get a chance, definitely stop by and eat!
Last thing. . .IT'S GOING TO BE A BOY!

May 17, 2010 Producing the latest album for University of Missouri, Columbia concert jazz ensemble this week! They are a great band! The location is Mansion Studio. Cool Place!Oh yeah, by the way. . .a new addition to the Ohlson family is due to arrive on October 13, 2010! Yep, we're having a baby!

First "Something New" rehearsal last night. Went really well! Lots of talent from the band and great work from the tech team. First service is Sunday evening @6pm. We're excited!

I'm now the worship leader for Faith Baptist Church's "Something New" service. This is a contemporary worship service with emphasis on newer worship music styles such as that of Lincoln Brewster, Tommy Walker, Dennis Jernigan, Chris Tomlin, etc.
If you're in the Wichita Falls area on a Sunday evening, be sure to come over to Faith Baptist Church at 6pm. We believe that it's going to explode!
The music core will be me, my wife Jennifer, and other praise team members with a contemporary band. We've already got some great guys/girls to do sound and slides. Members of the Adult 2 SS class and others have put considerable effort and finance into bringing in some state/art sound and video equipment. I'll try to keep you updated on how well that it's going. Pray for this team as we begin moving down this path.~Shane
